WaterTestBed

2023–

The project involves the development of a WaterTestBed in collaboration with the local water utility, Oulun Vesi. This TestBed will serve as a platform for companies and researchers to test and pilot new solutions within an actual water supply network.

In the research phase, advanced analytics and physical model building are crucial for data analysis. This includes utilizing a combination of modeled physical systems and simulations. The University of Oulu is actively studying effective methods to develop, validate, and apply these models in practical applications.

The WaterTestBed focuses on exploring various aspects necessary to achieve its core objectives. This includes water quality modeling in pipeline networks, automatic fault detection, predictive maintenance, and assessment of energy consumption. Additionally, the Oulu WaterTestBed provides companies with the opportunity to test their own solutions and collaborate with partner companies in a real water utility environment.

The project is co-funded by the European Union.
